Yaniv Rodenski - Big time: introducing Hadoop on Azure
The data deluge is real and it's here. Every day, real-life social applications are creating more data than ever before: Twitter reports a terabyte of twits a day and Facebook deals with data created by at least 15 million users at any given moment. In the last couple of years, the open-source Hadoop platform has become synonymous with BigData. The framework is so vast and popular that Microsoft has recently announced - for the first time in its history - that it is going to invest in this large-scale, open-source project as it's solution for BigData. In this session we will see how to use Hadoop with Windows Azure, explore it's existing APIs and take a look at Microsoft's BigData road-map.
